Holtec International Payroll Specialist I in Camden, New Jersey

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to be responsible for processing biweekly payroll, reviewing and performing payroll audits, reviewing payroll and payroll reports for accuracy, as well as serving as a point of contact for questions about payment policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Handles the processing of biweekly payroll.

  • Assists with updating payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, direct deposit information, 401K deferrals and/or loans, deductions, and pay rate changes.

  • Assists with reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.

  • Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.

  • Assists the accounting departments with balancing the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.

  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of payroll processing experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area (Or equivalent professional experience)

  • ADP Workforce Now is a plus, but not required.
