POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Information Technology’s primary responsibility is to oversee the IT department, infrastructure, and system engineering team operation and ensure their operations align with the organization’s business objectives. This individual’s principal goals are to develop and manage system portfolios for each department and to attain all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization.

The Director of IT will plan, coordinate, direct, and design operational activities of the IT department with focus on network infrastructure, virtualized platforms, servers, cloud computing and business applications, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhances mission-critical business operations. The Director of IT will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW:

  • Formulate and deploy strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective technologies aligned with and support overall business and Technology objectives.

  • Manage IT department operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, organizing, and negotiating the allocation of resources, ensuring that we meet our short- and long-term department objectives.

  • Where necessary, re-engineer system support to ensure it aligns with business processes, tactical planning, and strategic vision.

  • This is a hands-on role, where the candidate would be expected to actively participate in day-to-day operation and administration of systems under their supervision and care.

  • Define and communicate project milestones, service level agreements, and resource allocation to IT department head, department leads, support staff, and end users.

  • Develop and review operational and capital budgets to ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives of IT and the organization overall.

  • Review performance of IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.

  • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.

  • Develop bid requirements for hardware and software upgrades, reviews submitted bids for compliance with stated requirements, and makes the appropriate recommendations.

  • Authorize and oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all hardware and software based on department needs.

  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.

  • Direct research on potential technology solutions and implementations in support of new initiatives, opportunities, and procurement efforts.

  • Oversee technology provision and technical support services for all IT clients: fans, end-users, tenants, and partners.

  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, service provision.

  • Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.

  • Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten (10) years of hands-on IT work experience.

  • Certifications in one or more of the following fields: Cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, Advance Networking (LAN/WAN), AWS (Amazon Web Services).

  • Five (5) years of experience managing and/or directing an IT operation.

  • Demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development.

  • Strong understanding, deep technical knowledge of and working experience with current network, PC (Personal Computer) and MacOS operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards, including MS AD (Active Directory), MS365, Azure, AWS, Extreme Networks, Fortinet and general switching and routing protocols.

  • Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.

  • Working experience with on-prem to cloud server migration.

  • Knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to conduct and direct research into IT issues and products.

  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.

  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

    WORK CONDITIONS

  • On-site and/or on-call availability for major events and emergencies.

  • Will require regular on-site work in two or more of our facilities (90 miles distance)
