Robert Half Grants Financial Administrator III - Hybrid in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Description

We are working closely with our client in seeking a dedicated and resourceful Financial/Grants Administrator III. As a key figure in the organization, you will be responsible for all aspects of research administration, cost allocation, fund management and financial planning in an exciting academic environment. This is a newly created position due to growth in the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Management of a diverse portfolio of faculty-controlled funds, from initial proposal development, submission, renewal/extension through closeout.

• Providing assistance and guidance on all aspects of research administration including the development of proposals, cost analysis, federal regulations, and institution policies.

• Preparing and submitting research proposals, pre- and post-doctoral fellowship applications and managing all post-award responsibilities.

• Conforming to institution and government policies such as Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards, Office of Management and Budget circulars, and sponsored guidelines.

• Maintaining active communications with internal and external stakeholders to stay aligned with the changing policies and procedures.

• Other additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree is required together with at least five years' experience in financial management, preferably within an academic environment.

• Applicant should have deep experience in both pre- and post-award research administration and sponsored programs.

• Proficiency with Excel and other MS office products is vital, as well as a knack for adapting to ever-changing technology platforms related to grants & contract management.

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; detail-oriented with the ability to manage concurrent tasks, research and resolve discrepancies, use good judgment, anticipate needs and exhibit a flexible approach.

• Respect for confidentiality and privacy is essential.

• Experience with NIH Grants would be highly preferred

Preferred Experience:

Experience with Cognos, Concur, FRC, GAP, Kuali-Coeus, and SAP/SAPgui is highly desirable. Knowledge of Tableau and QuickBase would be advantageous.
