Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller based in Buffalo, New York. This role will focus on the management of financial activities in an industrial setting, with an emphasis on month-end close, cost accounting, financial statement preparation, and financial reporting. The individual will also support the financial management team in budget and forecast preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Manage all aspects of costing accounting to ensure accurate product costs.

• Prepare financial statements and conduct financial reporting in accordance with industry standards.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely with the financial management team.

• Collaborate with the CFO in strategic financial planning and decision making.

• Utilize skills in Budget Processes, Month End Close, and Annual Standard Cost to perform duties.

• Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.

• Coordinate with external auditors and manage work papers and schedules for audit.

• Implement best practices in financial analysis and reporting.

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Requirements • Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Plant Controller or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in managing budget processes is required.

• Must possess expertise in handling month-end close processes.

• Candidate should be adept at conducting annual standard cost computations.

• Strong communication and leadership skills are desirable.

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.

• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is necessary.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are needed.

• Experience with financial software and systems is a must.

• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to plant operations is required.

• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve company goals.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.

• CPA or CMA certification would be an advantage.

• The ability to strategize and implement financial procedures effectively is needed.

• Must be able to effectively manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions based on data are necessary.

• Must have a strong ethical framework and unquestionable integrity.
