As a Senior Mainframe/Distributed Software Engineer, you will:

Maintain and enhance REXX module interfacing between mainframe and distributed systems

Assist consultants and customers with installation, configuration, troubleshooting and implementation of software

Collaborate directly with product owners, scrum masters, UX designers, QA, and other developers to elaborate, document, and implement well thought out solutions.

Contribute to new product features

Diagnose and fix software defects identified by customers and internal stakeholders

Present your work at sprint reviews and other forums where appropriate

Develop, experiment, and promote creative ideas and solutions to difficult challenges

To qualify for this position, you have:

BA/BS degree with five (8+) years of Java experience

Two (2+) years or more of z/OS experience including REXX

Five (2+) years of experience with SQL Database (Oracle, SQLServer, Postgres)

To be successful, you will come to this role with solid computer science background along with:

Experience working directly with enterprise customers and varied IT infrastructure environments.

Experience troubleshooting complex problems spanning multiple specialties (network, application, security, performance)

Effective communication skills, especially around abstract concepts.

Being an active collaborator

Experience and passion for an Agile (SCRUM / SAFE) development process

Commitment to continuous improvement

To really stand out as the perfect person for this role, you may also have:

Substantial experience with mainframe applications and technologies

Workload automation experience, mainframe or distributed

Passion for teaching, coaching, and generally sharing what you know.
