Mississippi Employer Police Officer in Brookhaven, Mississippi

Experienced police officer needed for part-time position.

Must be certified by the Mississippi Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards to apply.

Will act in the capacity of Bailiff for the city court by escorting prisoners to and from court. Work rotating shifts performing security patrols, traffic control, investigation and first aid in accidents, detection, investigation and arrest of persons involved in crimes or misconduct. Prepare reports and records, and respond to emergency radio calls and investigate accidents, robberies, civil disturbances. etc.

Must be able to frequently stand, walk, run, use hands and fingers, feel objects, use tools, or controls, and able to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. Must be 21 years or older at the time of employment, possess a current valid State driver's license without record of suspension or revocation in any State. Must have a clear criminal background history free of any felony convictions. Must be an elector of the county in which he/she resides and read and write the English language. Be of good moral character and of temperate and industrious habits. Must possess High School Diploma or GED and completion of 1 year probation.
