Role and Scope

The Operations and Maintenance Engineer will support the Manager of Operations and Maintenance in delivering services for Ameresco’s clients across the UK.

Requirements of the role are as follows:

  • Support the bid teams establishing the required operations and maintenance activities and costs for new contracts and existing contract renewals.

  • Support the development, appointment and administration of new and renewing engineering maintenance subcontracts.

  • Direct staff, contractors, subcontractors and engineers on entire maintenance aspect, including all local safety, health and environmental requirements.

  • Supervise and control daily operation of facility, established working practices, work and asset management systems and Building and Energy Management systems.

  • Manage and co-ordinate planned and emergency response services, including timely reporting of incidents/accidents and subsequent investigations

  • Provide regular internal status/progress reports regarding all contractual aspects including progress against the maintenance plan, financial updates, changes to risk, innovations and further opportunities.

  • Support preparation of annual operating budgets together with the ongoing management of the project finances including monthly update on actual and forecast expenditure, updates on contingency, margin, financial risks, etc.

  • prior experience with BESS, Solar PV, EVI, CHP, integration of systems and/ or operations and maintenance.

  • multi-skilled electro-mechanical knowledge and experience.

  • holistic fault diagnosis and investigation experience.

  • warranty and complaints management/ handling experience

Candidate Requirements

Have an excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical and controls systems, the hazards and risks associated with this plant and strategies for management. Be an effective communicator at all levels with both internal and external teams. Be able to self start and self-manage tasks as highly organised, an excellent planner and solutions orientated and a team player. Highly experienced using engineering IT systems including work and asset management, metering and building management systems. Highly proficient to advanced user of Microsoft Office based system, especially, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Qualifications

Degree level - multi-skilled electromechanical, mechanical, electrical, industrialsystems, aviation engineer, preferably with knowledge and experience of CHP, ASHP,solar PV, EV Charging, BESS, hybridsystems, hydrogen boilers, renewable energy technology and systems - minimum of 7 yearsand in a senior engineer role with commercial responsibilities;2. Commercial understanding, budget creation/ management, supplier engagement& management and contract development & management experience - minimum of 3 years;3. Excellent inter-personal, reporting and communication skills in order to manage thewide range of variables required for this role to include, internal customers (UK, USA andworldwide), suppliers, clients, agents/ intermediaries, councils, landowners, asset owners, Ameresco partners, senior management. MUST be a native English speaker - generally and technically. Must betactful, diplomatic, a team player, able to self manage, work remotely as required, a self starter,aligned to the core values and ethos of the business.4. Must live in the Bristol City / Greater Bristol area to qualify for the BCL Social Value KPI, or be prepared to relocate to the Bristol area such that attendance at the Bristol office can occur at least 3 days per week.
