ESPN, Inc. Audio Marketing and Events Coordinator in Bristol, Connecticut

ESPN Radio, which launched January 1, 1992, provides more than 9,000 hours of talk and event content annually, reaching more than 32 million listeners per week on approximately 500 stations – including more than 400 full-time affiliates and clearance in the top 25 markets. ESPN Radio national programming is also available on SiriusXM and via digital distributors Apple Music, iHeartRadio and TuneIn. Since 2005, ESPN has been a leader in the sports podcasting genre with more than 35 original offerings, including the award-winning 30 for 30 Podcasts, category leaders like The Lowe Post, The Woj Pod, The Mina Kimes Show with Lenny and The Domonique Foxworth Show and on-demand audio from ESPN’s First Take, Around the Horn and PTI. ESPN’s podcasts are available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeart, Amazon Music, SiriusXM, TuneIn, ESPN.com and the ESPN App. ESPN Audio Marketing and Research handles all brand marketing, audience development and audience/performance research for the ESPN Audio business.

Responsibilities:

• Supports the development, execution and measurement of ESPN Radio and ESPN Podcast live events and marketing initiatives to drive ratings, fan engagement and audience/revenue growth.

o Explores event venue options, coordinates initial venue communication and site visit logistics.

o Works with Finance/ESPN Legal to secure venues and manage preparation of appropriate agreements and rental payments.

o Supports identification and hiring of in-market staffing as needed and handles freelance staff compensation and performance assessments.

o Liaises with ESPN Global Security to secure appropriate security resources for events.

o Develops event production/run-of-show documents and production guides.

o Coordinates with ESPN Consumer Products on the production of premium merchandise as needed.

o Develops, manages, and tracks budget line-items related to live event production, audio promotions, campaigns, creative development, and media investments.

o Manages the submission process of all project invoices with the Finance department, tracks payment and coordinates accruals/forecast submission documentation.

• Manages development/sales calendars from conception through sell-in and final execution, including adherence to key event deliverables, timelines, and approvals.

• Coordinates the participation of event sponsors in design of event/campaign creative, including management of sponsor artwork approval process with Good Karma Brands sales team/management.

• Supports development of post-event recaps to showcase performance to internal and external partners, appropriate Ad Sales team members, sponsors, and ESPN Audio/ESPN Production Management.

• Provides support to Audio Brand Marketing team as needed, including administrative and planning support for promotional inventory and management of departmental invoices/forecasts.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of marketing experience with agency or brand.

• Knowledge of radio, podcasting, and digital media.

• Proven experience with event planning and live event execution, including venue selection, site design, staging/branding, and fan experience management.

• Knowledge of the use of social media in event promotion and audience engagement.

• Strong interest in/engagement with sports.

Required Education:

• Undergraduate College Degree in related discipline.
