Amneal Pharmaceuticals Senior Buyer - Direct Procurement (Hybrid) in Bridgewater, New Jersey

Description:

This position is responsible for managing the procurement of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) excipients, and Packaging Components in support of all commercial activity. Responsibilities include the creation and management of raw material information, issuing purchase orders and tracking material and information requests for the cross-function team. Additional responsibilities include front line relationship management with internal and external stakeholders supporting various activity, sourcing, identification of potential alternate sourcing based on price reduction strategies, any potential compliance issues, leading supplier evaluations, and leveraging market intelligence.

Essential Functions:

  • Procurement of API, excipients, and packaging components. Tracking delivery of materials and follow through on overdue shipments as well as FDA and US Customs holds.

  • Participate in sourcing strategies and alternatives for new sources to manage risk, reduce cost, and improve service levels and quality.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all suppliers, and adheres to purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair and ethical relationships with our suppliers.

  • Participates in various cross-functional projects or initiatives.

  • Create and maintain databases or spreadsheets for all approved projects, documenting their technical parameters to ensure that crucial information is readily available for reference, facilitating informed decision-making by seniors and the Head of Department.

  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers to obtain the lowest total cost and best outcome for the Company. Initiate and Completion of Change controls for Commercial products of Amneal. Resolve the Complaints/NOI for Excipients/Packaging Materials; handle, manage and support in tech transfer projects for excipients and packaging components. Work with the suppliers and labeling team to handle the artwork process for all sites.
