Job Summary:

Serves as the liaison between the hospital and the emergency medical services (EMS) community. Coordinates monthly education, chief medical officer meetings, and rounding on EMS districts.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures patient safety through compliance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures which result in zero preventable errors.

  • Works in collaboration with others to improve patient, employee, EMS, and physician satisfaction.

  • Participates in the creation of a financially effective facility through the efficient utilization of resources and identification for EMS growth opportunities.

  • Functions as a member of the team through active participation in educational coordination of EMS, staff meetings, committees, and special projects.

  • Demonstrates and promotes the principles of relationship based care through the development of healthy relationships with EMS, patients, staff and physicians. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

  • Rare climbing.
