To ensure all Mall of America Engineering Department team members are properly trained in operation, service and maintenance of HVAC Systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead team of Technicians on preventative maintenance and repairs of all Mall of America HVAC equipment. Develop and implement comprehensive training program to meet the needs of the Engineering Department and team members. Train all Engineering Department team members. Including but not limited to: administering training, selecting task assignments, and inspections Keep records of repairs, and service performed in house or by others and maintenance to applicable systems. To ensure completion of tasks and projects assigned to Engineering Department in a timely and efficient manner, and supply feedback and documentation to Engineering/HVAC Supervisor. Respond to emergency calls concerning HVAC Systems, life and fire safety systems, water, gas and take corrective action as needed. Proficient utilization of the Andover Building Management system to control, troubleshoot, and monitor all systems. Assist in developing preventative maintenance schedules and new techniques to streamline tasks. Ensure the overall safety of the immediate work area as well as surrounding areas. Provide outstanding internal and external guest service. Assist Engineering Supervisor with documentation and information concerning supply and inventories. Assist other departments including building maintenance, facilities and other departments with tasks as needed. Regular, reliable and consistent attendance Additional duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Minimum of 5 years experience in the refrigeration field. Minimum of 3 years building systems operation and preventative maintenance. Minimum of 3 years of related experience in HVAC system repair and maintenance. Trade school or Vocational/Technical Certificate in areas of commercial, industrial, refrigeration, air conditioning service or equivalent working experience. Educational background in HVAC system operation, with knowledge of air systems and components and building load calculations preferred. Certified for refrigerant recovery. Working knowledge of the safe handling and operation of equipment and tools related with HVAC repair and maintenance. Knowledge of Building Control and Life Safety Systems. Strong background in electrical troubleshooting and reading control schematics. Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and service. Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints and plumbing drawings. To take charge during emergency situations and make repairs and responsible decisions in a timely manner. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for Windows. Able to work weekends and holidays and by on call 24 hours per day. Experience in other areas of building repair and maintenance. PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Current Minnesota Power Limited License. Five years field experience in HVAC system operation. Five years Building and Life Safety Systems experience. Prior supervisory experience.
