If you're interested in seeing where you fit in the Evergreen FS family apply now! * * Human Resource Generalist * DIVISION: Main Office * * REPORTS TO: VP Finance STATUS:* / /Exempt * * * PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT* Working closely with the VP of Finance this position is responsible for performing HR and payroll related duties. This position carries out responsibilities for payroll and benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, employment law compliance and assists with recruitment/employment. * ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* Responsible for administration, promotion and communication of all benefits including health, dental, vision plans, voluntary benefit plans and retirement plans. Responsible for open enrollment process and communication of plan changes annually. Analyzes, prepares and inputs all payroll data. Executes payroll using the company payroll system and other resources to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws. Monitors accuracy of payroll information including reconciliation of certain accounts as determined by the VP Finance. Develops and maintains human resources system and time keeping system and ensures accuracy and data integrity of the system. Responsible for report creation and distribution to management, government agencies and other required reporting for HR data. Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual. Responds to all inquiries regarding policies, procedures and HR programs and provides assistance to employees requesting information on paid time off plans and policies. Handles employee relation issues appropriately referring them to management. Conducts and/or coordinates various employee training programs related to onboarding, professional development, and/or department specific requested training. Responsible for performance management including performance review process, and annual merit increase process. Oversees and provides guidance to performance notices and performance improvement plans, including terminations. Collaborates with management to assess employment needs, and participates in recruiting efforts to identify, interview, hire and train candidates; monitors career-path program. Maintains new hire and termination paperwork and manages employee files. Oversees worker’s compensation claims and reporting to insurance. Assists with OSHA reporting and OSHA 300A submission. * OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS* Annually reviews and makes recommendations to management staff for improvement of company policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters. Communicates all changes in personnel policies and procedures. Oversees auditing processes in multiple departments to ensure policies and procedures are being followed and to provide clarification on subjects that may be misunderstood. Maintains knowledge of industry trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Performs other duties as required and assigned. * REQUIREMENTS* Normally requires a BA/BS in Human Resources, Education, Business, or related concentration and 2-5 years of relevant HR experience. PC proficiency with various software applications, including MS Office. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, verbal and written communication skills, conflict resolution, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary. Ability to act with integrity, absolute professionalism, confidentiality and privacy. Ability and willingness to work extended hours when necessary. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Evergreen’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
