We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineering Technician. This role will provide technical support to the shop floor and serve as a resource for the Manufacturing Engineering department for project completion and daily assembly support.

  • Support daily production requirements

  • Create and maintain work instructions within shop floor systems

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering with creation and installation of product fixtures and test equipment.

  • First response to equipment and standard process issues on the shop floor.

  • Supports prototype builds and DFT line layout development.

  • Serves as lead for small to medium size continuous improvement projects, root cause investigations and proof of concept trials for production team.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Support daily production activities by trouble shooting and tracking defects, developing root cause, implementing containment/corrective actions and formulating support requests with engineering teams

  • Develop, maintain, and update pictorial work instructions for use in production builds and reworks. Coordinate update cut in and provide training.

  • Equipment maintenance and first responder to equipment downtime issues

  • Assist Area Coach in leading small to medium size Continuous Improvement projects for Production

  • Support Manufacturing Engineering in the development and set up of new manufacturing processes.

Required Job Qualifications (unless otherwise noted):

Educational Background

  • HS diploma required with 2 year degree in drafting, computers, manufacturing or electronics or related field desired.

Previous Work Experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Manufacturing or Engineering setting.

  • Strong project and time management skills.

  • Prior experience with Lean methodologies and approaches in manufacturing

Special Skills, Experience and Abilities

  • Computer skills MS office with special focus on excel, imaging software and databases

  • Experience with processing BOM, ECN’s and writing manufacturing work instructions preferred.

  • Experience reading blue prints

  • Ability to analyze end to end process flow and map steps. Value Stream Mapping a plus.

Physical requirements/Work environment

  • Shop Floor / Lab Environment

  • Ability to life components weighing up to 35 lbs. is required

  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods, as needed
