MRI Technologist

Position Summary:

Under general supervision of the Manager of MRI and under the direction of a Radiologist, can perform diagnostic MRI/MRA on pediatric, adult and geriatric patients on designated areas of the body as requested by a physician.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Utilizes all their technical skills and training to ensure the safe and accurate operation of the MRI scanner including the screening of all patients and visitors

• Evaluates MRI scans for technical quality under minimal supervision. Perform these duties using independent judgment and initiative

• Must project an image of professionalism in conduct, appearance, communication and team work. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process of the department.

• Participates in hospital wide compliance assessments

• Will be required to take call and rotate to both MRI sites

• Performs other related duties as required

Organizational Requirements:

Maintain strict adherence to the Beverly Hospital Confidentiality policy.

Comply with behavioral expectations of the department and Beverly Hospital.

Maintain courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.

Demonstrate an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.

Demonstrate a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards.

Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.

Participate in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.

Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Is accountable for identifying, actively contributing to, and implementing best practices and improvements including practicing proper hand hygiene

Is accountable for cleaning equipment and rooms per Hospital, Radiology and regulatory policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Must be a graduate of an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Upholds standards set by the ARRT regarding diagnostic procedures and professional ethics.

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or

Bachelor of Science Degree in Advanced Level Certification in MRI

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience: Experience in MRI setting preferred

Must have excellent communication skills

Must maintain a professional manner and appearance

Must be able to work independently as well as in a team

Must be self-motivated and have ability to work in a healthcare setting

Must have basic computer skills

Must have basic skills and knowledge necessary to perform venipuncture
