Position Overview:

This is a full-time, professional position that will contribute to DAI’s Sustainable Business Group (SBG). DAI SBG is a specialized unit within DAI that develops unique products and consulting services to help clients operate more sustainably and responsibly. We work with both the public and private sector across a wide range of geographies where we offer a range of advisory and implementation services ranging from helping private and public corporations manage, reorganize and develop their local and global supply chains in a manner that drives commercial success while promoting social and environmental sustainability and economic development, to SME development, entrepreneurship and innovation, corporate social investments and strategy/policy development.

This exciting role sits within SBG’s Delivery, Finance & Operations (DFO) team and is based in the Bethesda, MD office with an opportunity for overseas travel. The Associate Manager will primarily provide project, logistical and administrative support across a portfolio of projects, helping to ensure effective and efficient management and delivery of projects. In addition, the Associate Manager will support with entity management and new business effortsand contribute to knowledge management initiatives.

Responsibilities

The percentages below are illustrative and may evolve and/or change depending on business needs. Specific responsibilities will include:

Project Management & Administration (80%)

· Support implementation of project and risk management policies, processes and procedures across a portfolio of projects for effective and efficient project delivery

· Conduct regularmonitoring and reporting activities, including tracking of agreed actions and monitoring of risk register and mitigation actions, andfacilitate information sharing within the Business Unit, and across DAI corporate and project offices

· Assist in the development and maintenance of project management systems and tools, playing an active role in business process improvement initiatives

· Ensure project information on relevant databases and file storage (e.g. DAI Connect, Sharepoint etc) is produced promptly, in the correct format and regularly updated whilst maintaining quality and accuracy of information and compliance with Confidentiality and Data Protection policies.

· Prepareproject staff/ consultants/subcontractor records, including undertaking vetting and due diligence checks, anddrafting and processing consultant contracts, subcontract agreements, modifications and project budgets.

· Collaborate with Finance teams to set-up, review and process supplier and client records and invoices in ERP systems and troubleshoot any issues

· Assist with logistics for project technical teams, including making travel arrangements as well as organizing and facilitating events to engage partners, stakeholders, and clients

· Update and monitor operational budgets and the financial performance of projects and liaise with Project Accountants to ensure the financial projections are on course to be met and profitability forecasts and expenditure forecasts areaccurate. Provide inputs to Finance teams on project financial performance

· Troubleshoot project management and operational issues

Entity Management (15%)

· Assist bid and project teams by researching requirements for conducting compliant operations in different countries. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying and documenting required registrations, licenses, bank account requisites, financial restrictions, tax implications, transfer pricing considerations, or any other relevant information to ensure compliant and timely start-up and close-down of country operations

· Support new entity requests, researching and validating options for new registrations, viability of pre-existing entities, and the risks and obligations associated with entity compliance and dissolution

· Create and maintain checklists, flowcharts, reports and records for each country of interest to maintain accurate knowledge and dynamic oversight of country-specific employment, statutory, tax and compliance requirements

· Support entity formation and dissolution processes in accordance with DAI’s Entity Management Policy and Procedures by sourcing, preparing, formatting and securely filing documentation

· Conduct regular status checks on each entity managed by SBG, ensuring completion of Compliance Checklists and that all supporting evidence is verified and securely filed;

· Support the Director in the preparation of any applicable inter-company documentation, e.g. Inter Company Agreements (ICAs) and/or Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs);

· Liaise and collaborate with Entity Management Points of Contact across DAI to share knowledge and best practice;

· Ensure all documents are securely filed and stored in compliance with applicable GDPR regulation;

· Assist SBG with start-up and close-down of country operations.

Knowledge Management & New Business (5%)

· Provide coordination, pricing and administrative support to new business efforts, including preparation of proposal content, and analysis of data and documents

· Support recruitment efforts for projects and bids and maintain communication with current and potential project staff/consultants

· Support onboarding of proposal resources (e.g. contracting of subcontractors and external experts)

· Support cross-company knowledge management initiatives for business development

· Facilitate information sharing within the Business Unit, and across DAI corporate and project offices, and external partners

· Support the development of knowledge management and marketing products, such as past performance and technical qualifications, project write-ups and general templates

Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience

Minimum Requirements:

· Grade 4: Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in project management and a college degree. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

· Financially literate with a high level of attention to detail

· Some experience and/or strong interest in responsible sourcing, supply chain, supplier development, ESG, circular economy or corporate sustainability issues

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible, and team-focused work environment

· Advanced working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

· Ability to travel to all countries where DAI implements its projects, barring times when DAI Global security has deemed travel unsafe

· Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred, but not required:

· Language fluency/business proficient communication in a second language such as Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian or Portuguese

· Analytical or procurement experience within a large corporation in areas such as pricing or cost estimation or responsible sourcing.

· Experience in a technical field, such as private sector/enterprise development, economic growth, quantitative and qualitative analysis, value chain/supply chain, and/or the energy or resource industries.

Compensation & Benefits:

For employees working the United States, the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $71,667 to $77,991. Salary for part-time employees will be prorated based on actual hours worked. Actual offers will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Eligible U.S. based employees will be able to enroll in medical, dental and vision insurance, plus a 401(k)-retirement plan with a company match. Additionally, employees will be eligible for company-paid annual leave (vacation & holidays), sick leave, and parental leave, as well as short- and long-term disability coverage. Detailed information will be provided at the time a formal offer is extended.

For employees working outside of the United States, compensation and benefits will vary based on location.
