Google Cloud Technical Solutions Engineer, Oracle in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 2 years of experience in reading/debugging in one language: Python, Shell/Bash, Perl, Java

  • 2 years of experience troubleshooting and advocating for customers' needs, and triaging technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process)

  • Experience in enterprise cloud support and supporting Oracle solutions on public cloud

Preferred qualifications:

  • Public cloud certifications or traditional Oracle certifications

  • Experience with SQL database administration, Google App Engine, open source software communities, Cloud networking solutions, or distributed computing

  • Experience with deployment migration from traditional infrastructure and IaaS Solutions on public cloud, on-premise, or hybrid cloud computing

  • System/network administrator level knowledge of Linux/Unix or other operating systems

  • Ability to collect and analyze common trace files, network packet tracing, memory dumps, oracle logs, RAC logs, analyze OS metrics for network, memory, processing, and IO troubleshooting

  • Ability to work non-standard hours, weekends, holidays, and shift-based schedules

  • Understand customer impact, work on escalations through diagnosis, troubleshoot and resolve on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products through excellent customer management.

  • Contribute to Supportability Engineering with product, site reliability engineers, and engineering to improve product quality and reduce contact rate. Interact with SRE and Vendor teams to drive high-quality response to outages, minimize impact on customers, and improve support experience for Oracle-on-GCP by developing best practices based on previous learnings.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for internal stakeholders in engineering, Sales, and external partners to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve interoperability with GCP and other products.

  • Learn GCP native databases and help customers migrate from legacy to modern GCP databases (Spanner, BigQuery, BigTable).

  • Work as part of a team globally to ensure 24 hour customer support.
