Maintenance Technician (Electrician)

Location: Belvidere, NJ, USA

Onsite

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing problems and providing extensive troubleshooting. You will repair/troubleshoot VFD’s, PLC’s, test motors with associated controls and diagnose protective devices such as breakers, fuses, overloads and troubleshoot control relays. Experience with instrumentation or the ability to learn these systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Fill out and review Permit Cliqs (work permits) in conjunction with operation personnel prior to starting a job.

  • Ensure all lockout - tagout procedures are followed.

  • Locate equipment problem and discuss potential causes.

  • Recommend practical solutions of technical problems.

  • Diagnose problems and repair VFD’s, PLC’s, motors with associated controls, protective devices, breakers, fuses, overloads, relays, conduit & cable, transmitter calibration controllers, switches and metrology.

  • Repair damages and defects to equipment as per technical instructions and discuss.

  • Consult additional technical information such as drawings and manuals if necessary.

  • Perform planned preventive and predictive maintenance tasks within schedule.

  • Involvement in setting up and reviewing site SHE requirements, procedures, and instructions by participating in SHE culture on site.

    You bring:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2-4 years maintenance-related experience required. (Electrician preferred)

  • Knowledge and skill experience to diagnose problems and repair VFD’s, PLC’s, motors with associated controls, knowledge of protective devices, breakers, fuses, overloads, relays, conduit & cable, transmitter calibration controllers, switches and metrology.

  • Must be available to work weekends, overtime (including coverage and standby), and holidays as required.

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job including but not limited to maintenance of process equipment in shop floor situations.
