Daily Work Times: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Scheduled Budgeted Hours: 40

Position Summary:

Maintains cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing, and disinfecting items. Moves furniture and equipment. Able to operate equipment, such as, floor scrubber and buffer.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Cleans items such as, but not limited to, floors, elevators, furniture, windows, walls, screens, drinking fountains, lights, pipes, vents and areas in high places using ladders when necessary.

  2. Maintains cleanliness by using methods such as, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing, polishing and disinfecting.

  3. Moves furniture and equipment as needed.

  4. Responsible for correct use of cleaning compounds.

  5. Operates power driven equipment such as floor scrubber and buffer and maintains such equipment.

  6. Participates in performance improvement activities.

  7. Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid Michigan drivers license, and a driver’s record approved by the Medical Center’s insurance agent for those employees who drive a vehicle as a requirement for the job (If Applicable)

Preferred:

  • Previous custodian experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
