Genetic Sciences enables genomic discoveries and decisions through our innovative genetic analysis technologies, workflows, and services in the fields of cancer research, human identification, animal health and agri-genomics, reproductive health and molecular diagnostics. We support researchers, labs and clinicians in advancing scientific discovery and improving global health outcomes by providing best-in-class genetic analysis platforms and solutions. Our powerful portfolio includes real-time PCR, Sanger sequencing and microarray analysis. Technology applications include genomic analysis, genetic testing, forensics, reproductive health, agri-genomics and animal health, and human diagnostic testing.

How will you make an impact?

The Business Development Manager will serve on a team focused on targeted market expansion activities for the Genetic Sciences Division in varying market segments and workflow areas utilizing our market leading technologies and chemistries. This position will be critical in advancing our technologies in new and expanding markets across the world. You will be responsible for executing clear go-to-market strategies in your assigned region to facilitate lead generation , revenue generation, market development engagements and other selling and commercial activities within a very well-established molecular portfolio of products, service and support. This individual will enjoy actively prospecting to develop new markets and customer in targeted supported applications we are bringing to market on both quarterly and annual assignments. You will also be maintaining and building effective relationships with key stakeholders and advocates in you region, developing opportunities for growth within both our existing customer base and in new markets, and assuring market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts.

What will you do?

  • Drive adoption of targeted product, application workflows and services across all of our key customer areas , including human and veterinary diagnostics, agriculture,

  • Responsible for achieving forecasted sales goals for the portfolio, on-going business development activities as directed by the division, providing support external partners and sell directly to new and existing customers.

  • Develop strategic business growth plans and initiatives in line with the AOP, expanding sales through existing install base and establishing new customers, ensuring alignment across the various business functions.

  • Utilize Salesforce.com daily by updating and adding notes, customer information, etc.

  • Available to travel overnight up to 50% of time.

  • Work in a collaborative manner across many internal partners and stakeholders.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science or business, ideally with post-secondary degrees in relative or similar field of study

Experience

Band 8

  • 10+ years of sales experience; familiarity with molecular biology instrumentation and practical application strongly preferred

  • Molecular diagnostic, genomics and/or biotech market experience is a strong plus.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills

  • Proven commercial excellence working in a matrix environment.

  • Organizational skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet
