As a Software Engineer I in Viva Glint, you will join a team working on AI, analytics and reporting, big data and Viva app integrations. You will build scalable and performant services using engineering best practices and work hands-on with analytics and reporting systems written in Java, and offline data systems all running on Azure. You will work to evolve the product with a customer-first approach and drive innovation, empathizing with our end-users’ needs and engaging to help define their key experiences.

This opportunity will allow you to closely work with other engineers, managers, product, design and operations teams to create solutions that meet business requirements, and to drive engineering and operational excellence in Viva Glint. You will be able to work on Glint’s core feature set driven by analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Works with stakeholders to determine service and user requirements for a set of features, including but not limited to analytics, reporting and big data systems.

  • Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.

  • Creates and implements code to enable Viva Glint service or feature, reusing code as applicable.

  • Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.

  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.

  • Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualfications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field AND 1+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR master’s degree in computer science or related technical field AND 1+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python or equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years' experience building backend systems in Java for customer-facing web applications, including API design and implementation.

  • Experience with (or enthusiasm for learning) ETL, analytics and reporting backend patterns and systems.

  • Experience writing queries with SQL and using MySQL.

  • Experience working with LLMs and prompt engineering.

  • Proficiency in writing unit tests.
