5 Fulltime Seasonal H-2A Jobs Available 02/01/2024 - 11/30/2024

Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, and water plants and flowers using hand and gardening tools. Transplant and/or pot and label them and move to indoor or outdoor growing areas. Detect the presence of insects or disease by feeling plants leaves and noting their coloring. Operate forklifts, electric & manual hand jacks, bale busters, conveyors, sprayers and other machinery and equipment needed to fertilize, cultivate, and spray greenhouses and plants. Will operate equipment within the nursery setting. Workers will be required to load and unload trucks with plants, supplies, wreaths & greens, as well as chemicals & soils. Spray plants/flowers with prescribed herbicides, fungicides and pesticides to control diseases and insects under strict supervision. Dig, cut, and transplant seedlings and cuttings. Move containerized plants, and flowers, using wheelbarrows or nursery carts. Maintain clean and sanitary work areas. and maintain grounds. Will lift and carry bags of soil & fertilizer weighing up to 80 pounds. Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems.

Workers must have experience in working with farm sanitary and safety practices as required in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) plans. Employer will furnish to workers, without cost, all tools and equipment required in the performance of the duties assigned. Workers should report for work with their own suitable work clothing. Field temperatures may range from 30 degrees to 90+ degrees F and work may be done in the rain, snow, mud, wind and sun. Due to health and safety concerns relating to pesticide application and the operation of equipment on our farm, workers are required to have the ability to comprehend simple oral and written instructions in English. After hiring, employer may conduct random drug tests at employer's expense. Workers referred against this order must have a minimum of 3 months experience in performing tasks described in this order.

Requirements:

  • Exposure to extreme temps/repetitive movements/frequent stooping.
  • Extensive pushing and pulling and extensive walking.
  • Drug screening at employer's expense
  • Lifting requirement of 80 lbs.
