SOS International LLC Facilities Lead in Baghdad, Iraq, Iraq

Overview

SOSi is seeking a Facilities Lead for a potential contract located on Camp Taji, Iraq.

Essential Job Duties

  • Works in partnership with the Site Manager to providedesignated Public Works, serving as a lead member of the Site management team.

  • Plans, directs and manages daily operations of grounds and building maintenance activities to meet the requirements stated in the statement of work.

  • Oversees minor construction, operations and maintenance (trades), power generation(spot), water treatment and distribution, wastewater collection, MHE, and labor.

  • Emphasis is placed onpower generation, supervision of the trades to include HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.

  • Supervise and monitor public works to ensure proper maintenance, safety and cleanliness standards are adhered to.

  • Ensures that purchases and inventories are conducted properly and managed in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • Develops and evaluates policies and procedures to effectively carry out public works operations.

  • Responsible for effective employee relations, diversity and staff development.

  • Formulates and implements strategic objectives, policies, and directives.

  • Prepares Public Works budget.

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.

  • Adhere and enforce health, safety, environmental and quality assurance requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Site Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Ten years’ experience in trades, power generation, or construction.

  • Valid Driver’s License.

  • Knowledge of all relevant safety standards required by regulation and policy.

  • Ability to read and understand schematics, blue prints, and technical drawings.

  • Relevant overseas Contingency Contracting experience preferably with the Department of Defense.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write English at a professional level.

  • High efficiency with Microsoft Office Platforms (Excel, Visio, Power Point and Word).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Certified electrical journey man or power generation tech is highly desired.

Work Environment

  • Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times

  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions

  • Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary

  • May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
