Amazon Sr. Program Manager, Amazon Delivery Central Operations in Austin, Texas

Description

Amazon seeks a Senior Program Manager to drive new initiatives and program launches for the North America Last Mile Delivery Central Operations Team. The Senior Program Manager will be a key member of strategic initiatives that will continue to improve last-mile processes to scale for rapidly increasing volume and complexity and support our delivery station leaders / operators and delivery service partners (DSPs).

Specifically, this role will support process development and optimization of configurations related to the sort planning and execution processes.

Key job responsibilities

Drive strategic initiatives for the Central Operations Systems Management (COSM) team supporting configuration, system setup and cost/capacity optimization, as we scale the network, and develop and deploy automation that supports the delivery station network.

Create and present a roadmap that aligns with Amazon’s strategic objectives with regional leadership and stakeholders and gain alignment on proposed solutions.

Analyze root cause, determine long-term scalable solutions and drive action based on analytical, mathematical, and quantitative data.

Spearhead setting up robust processes for deployment, oversee execution and determine high quality output through structured quality control processes and audits in alignment with several stakeholder teams.

A day in the life

This role will lead building tools, processes and automated solutions that address complex network-wide problems and create long term sustainable solutions for last mile delivery operations. The role has a strategy and execution flavor consuming upstream inputs from planning / tech teams and providing configuration support for downstream partners - delivery station leaders / service providers.

About the team

Central Operations (CO) is the nerve center for last mile operations. Program managers in CO utilize their centralized perspective to identify opportunities, facilitating conversations amongst stakeholders and driving resolution.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Familiarity with building SQL queries and experience with data analytics and related tools.
