Description

Amazon’s Transportation Services team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regional Manager, Middle Mile Performance Management to help develop a world class logistics process that delivers goods on time at the best cost. Our team objective is to manage freight flowing through our North American transportation networks, specifically focused on transportation carrier programs and performance.

We are looking for a dynamic experienced Regional Manager to join the Middle Mile team to lead a team of Partner Managers who manage carrier relationships and ensure they are set up to succeed. This person will develop the team, defining the strategy to handle the relationship with Amazon’s carriers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage transportation execution across all lanes and programs for a regional node

  • Manage carrier relationships at a local, regional and national level and identify opportunities for improvement through ongoing carrier communication

  • Primary manager responsible for driving performance in key metrics such as safety, on-time delivery/pickup, rejections and compliance

  • Utilize data across multiple systems to identify the root cause and take action on it within the network

  • Has autonomy to make decisions relating to carrier relationships and the responsibility to display solid decision-making and judgment on which problems to escalate and when to escalate problems that require input from cross-functional teams or senior leadership

  • Support all safety programs and DOT compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all

  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement projects to solve complex problems across the network

  • Regularly represent company at meetings with carrier representatives for purposes of managing performance and identifying mutual solutions.

  • Manage carrier performance against Perfect VRID expectations (Tender accept, OT to pick/depart, OT to Destination, App Compliance, EDI compliance, Reject Rate, Case Response Time)

  • Responsible for inbound performance across key metrics: CARP Compliance, EDI Compliance, On-Time, Case Management, No Call No Show

  • Manage carrier engagement, driving carrier value proposition: Revenue, Tractor Utilization, Tour Quality

  • Partner with Transportation Operations Teams and Building Operations’ Senior leadership to drive process improvements that reduce: Misloads / Trailer Damage / Gate Delays / FC Loads Delays

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

  • 5+ years of team management experience

  • 5+ years of cross functional project delivery experience

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • 2+ years of supply chain experience

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
