Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon (Small Animal) - Rotational role including a mix of shelter medicine, branch work and access to a hospital environment.

Salary: £40,500 (Dependent upon experience)

Location: Glasgow - Roundhouse Veterinary Hospital

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours : 4 days per week (36 hours), 1:3 weekend days.

Your role and responsibilities

We are delighted to be recruiting a small animal Veterinary surgeon for a rotational position between Dogs Trust, Pets’N’Vets Crookfur and The Roundhouse Hospital. This rare opportunity allows development shelter medicine skills in the charity setting with access to the nearby Roundhouse Hospital.

The time at Dogs Trust will be split between consultations and surgeries, working closely with the centre staff including RVN’s, behaviourists and central vet support. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working sole charge. There is opportunity to progress cases surgically and medically with the support of the Roundhouse Hospital.

In addition to your time at Dogs Trust, you will rotate through our Newton Mearns branch practice and our 12 vet Roundhouse Hospital. Regular Rota’d time working between these practices will allow exposure to our host of services including advanced imaging (traveling CT and MRI and advanced ultrasound), advanced surgery, cardiology and physiotherapy. There will be support from certificate holders in surgery: soft tissue and orthopaedic, cardiology, medicine and ECC allowing progression and development of your own clinical skills.
