Position Description

The NSQIP Coordinator collects and submits reliable data to the American College of Surgeons (ACS). This is accomplished through high quality data compilation, documentation and entry into the ACS NSQIP database of all eligible surgeries for the hospital. This will occur through precise surgical reviews and patient follow up during the postoperative timeframe. The coordinator works closely with the members of the various surgical departments to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects, as identified.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Nursing and 3 years or more of experience in hospital acute care and surgical care. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Working knowledge of databases, operating systems, spreadsheets, and other Office Word software. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Appropriate data abstraction certification within 3 months of hire. Current Registered Nursing License (Georgia) or qualifying multi-state compact license.

Preferred Requirements

Master's degree: Nursing, Business or other Healthcare. 2 years or more of experience in abstraction, data analysis, and or performance improvement or quality management. Quality improvement and patient safety knowledge and experience. Data abstraction certification and CPHQ.
