Anoka-Hennepin Schools Summer Worker - Special Ed Paraeducators - Secondary in Anoka, Minnesota

SPECIAL ED PARAEDUCATORS for Secondary Extended School Year and Targeted Services Sites Several temporary summer worker Special Ed Paraeducator positions available. DATES & SUMMER HOURS: June 17 - June 28 June 12 - Teacher set-up day June 17 - June 21, Monday thru Friday, 3.5 hours per day; NO SCHOOL on June 19th June 24 - June 28, Monday thru Friday, 3.5 hours per day; Assignments will be made based on student needs. SITES: Secondary ESY Sites: Anoka High, Jackson Middle School, Transition Program(s) Setting IV ESY Sites for K-12: River Trail Learning Center Targeted Services Sites: All Middle Schools PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with and support specialized instruction to students receiving special education services for maintenance of skills related to IEP goals and objectives in either a multi-age, cross categorical setting or multi-age, disability explicit setting to maintain skills which are subject to regression/recoupment, self-sufficiency, or unique needs. Assist with the implementation of student IEP accommodations/modifications/assistive technology and behavior support plans. Additional responsibilities will include instruction, personal care (feeding, toileting), lifting, physical assists, behavior management, and bus supervision. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to work effectively with students with disabilities. Good communications, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills. Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff. Ability to take direction. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities, including physical factors, work devices, materials handling, data functions and people functions, but not limited to: toileting, feeding and self-care procedures, implementing behavioral management program; maintaining student data; working with students who may display aggressive, abusive or inappropriate verbal and/or physical behavior. Must be physically working in the building. RATE OF PAY: New Hires $18.00/hour; Current Paras accepting employment in their same category shall be paid at their school year ending hourly rate on the salary schedule through their summer employment, including seniority and academic credits. Paras accepting employment in a different category shall be paid that category's school year ending hourly rate on the salary schedule at the relevant step including seniority and academic credits.
