POSITION DESCRIPTION The Project Controller provides detailed analysis and reporting on project or program status within an established system of project controls: Works with the project technical leads to execute project schedule development, project monitoring and control, and integrated change control. Analyzes forecasts to identify issues before they become problems, enabling projects to react timely and develop appropriate solutions. Understands the scope of work sufficiently to build and status schedules. Analyzes, compiles, and presents project specific data from a variety of sources to meet on-demand needs. Facilitates internal team communications and meetings. Analyzes the schedule on a routine basis to ensure that the schedule logic correctly represents the flow of work. Generates and analyzes what-if scenarios and conducts critical-path analysis and float analysis as required. Out of State & Albuquerque local; are both eligible for 100% remote work if qualified. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in related field MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Ability to work in a diverse work environment, Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening, Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience on DOE sites and programs, Knowledge of and/or experience with scheduling best practices, including work breakdown structure development, schedule logic and dependencies, change control and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), Demonstrated teaming skills, including the ability to work effectively with other organizations, functions, and in-house customers and suppliers, Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks. LOCATION This position is based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, but out of state candidates are acceptable. Both local and out of state candidates and eligible for 100% remote work if qualified. This position is part time and about 18-25 hours per week can be expected. Our team is comprised of technical engineering and science professionals from diverse backgrounds including materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and nuclear engineering. We utilize state-of-the-art computer codes to perform modeling and simulation and we design and conduct tests at specialized test facilities to evaluate the performance of unique hardware components in extreme environments. DURATION This project has a 2-3 year expected duration with possibility of extension.
