About the Position

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s Global Flight Operation has an opening for a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technician at the Akron/Canton Regional Airport (CAK). This individual will be a self-starter and will be required to accomplish the following tasks and duties as related to the FAA Certified Repair Station and Quality Control Manual.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide the highest quality aircraft maintenance, while meeting or exceeding any requirements set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) & Manufacturer Standards.

  • Perform daily preflight & post flight inspections including inspection for physical defects, evaluating system malfunctions, performing necessary repairs & inspections prior to releasing the aircraft to service insuring that all necessary Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) FAR Part 43 are met.

  • Perform scheduled airframe & engine inspections, minor & major repairs, aircraft manufacturer’s service bulletins & modifications, along with system malfunction repairs. Supervision of maintenance projects performed by a rotational basis. Insure all maintenance meets FAA requirements & manufacturers standards. Procedure utilized when initiating & completing any maintenance must comply with FAR Part 43. Responsible for any maintenance performed, inspected & accepted.

  • Travel as a Flight Technician on the G450 and perform safety, mechanical, customer service duties and perform the duties of Aircraft & Facility technician as required.

  • Perform administrative details relating to aircraft maintenance including FAA compliance of all maintenance records including written logs & historical records pertaining to the aircraft insuring that entries meet FAR Part 43. Maintain records required under FAR 145 pertaining to the FAA Repair Station & comply with any repair station administrative requirements.

  • Acquire replacement parts using pre-arranged systems set forth & inspect any component received to insure only FAA approved components are utilized on the aircraft and design &/or fabricate test & support equipment.

  • Assist with the cleaning and fueling of company aircraft.

  • Assist with cleaning and general maintenance of the hangar and on-site fuel farm.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/ GED required.

  • DOT FAA Airframe & Power plant license required.

  • 5 years civilian or equivalent military experience in aircraft airframe and powerplant maintenance.

  • It is required to be knowledgeable in aircraft AC and DC electrical systems, basic avionics system operations, hydraulic system and component repairs and overhaul, pneumatics, anti-ice systems, environmental and cabin pressure control systems and basic sheet metal fabrication.

  • Gulfstream G150 and G450 experience is preferred.

  • Knowledgeable in all electrical systems, basic avionics system operations, hydraulics, hydraulic component overhauls & repairs, pneumatics, anti-ice system, environmental control systems, air conditioning with required certifications & aircraft painting procedures. Know aircraft fulling procedures to ensure safety & proper quantity per airframe manufacturer's instructions & FAA requirements. Familiar with operating procedures for the aircraft fuel quantity indication systems along with fuel truck operations & aircraft fulling safety procedures, fuel farm operation procedures & fuel truck refilling methods.
