Describe the role

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Facilitates problem solving activities for both product and manufacturing processes.

  • Performs process validations, in-process inspections, and monitoring, analyzing the quality of manufacturing processes and products.

  • Provides support to design, manufacturing, and quality engineering functions for data collection, analysis, product review, and process capabilities.

  • Effectively communicates with appropriate areas as needed. (supply, manufacturing, engineering, quality, customer service, production planning, logistics, etc.)

  • Performs product reviews and analysis to determine cause and/or disposition.

  • Performs routine inspections of internal components for conformity of specifications.

  • Manage calibrations and inventory on inspection measuring devices.

  • Provide audit support in designated areas.

  • Participate in lean activities as required.

  • Observe all applicable safety rules and report any unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

YOU HAVE:

  • Academic background: High school diploma or G.E.D.Associate’s degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in or with:

  • 1 year experience in the quality process preferred.

  • Experience and understanding of charting and process control methods preferred.

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems, and with precision measuring devices preferred.

  • Skills:

  • Skills in identifying root causes of routine problems/issues and the ability to develop recommendations for resolution.

  • Skills in attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Skill in using personal computers, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.).

  • Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands:

  • Ability to effectively organize, plan workload and work in a self-directed manner.

  • Ability to utilize good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people across multiple functional areas within the company.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships across functional areas.

  • Ability to interpret and apply Quality System / ISO procedures and documentation.

  • Ability to apply appropriate math and geometry.

  • Must be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.

  • Knowledge of nVent product design and manufacturing processes preferred.
