Waverly Health Center Certified Pharmacy Technician .5 FTE 1st shift in Waverly, Iowa

SCHEDULE FTE: .5, 1st shift

Variable shifts between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. May be required to work outside these hours on an occasional basis per department needs. Weekend and holiday rotation required. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Primarily assists Pharmacists by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical, and injectable use. Also prepares medications as required using aseptic technique, labels medications, ordering and re-stocking, review of charges, and other related duties. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Experience, and Training

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program and certified as a Pharmacy Technician.

  • Previous experience in a Pharmacy setting preferred. Hospital experience preferred.

  • Education in all ages ranging from newborn to the geriatric population preferred.

  • Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including the online training modules, the employee timesheet and the performance appraisal system. Job specific systems are also required.

  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting – Approximately 50% of shift.

  • Standing – Approximately 20% of shift

  • Walking – Approximately 30% of shift

  • Lifting – Up to 25 lbs.

  • Twisting – Not a requirement.

  • Bending – Infrequent.

  • Squat/Kneel – Infrequent
