Position Title: Instructor - Pima for Youth (Multiple Opportunities) [Temporary, Part-Time, up to 19.5 hours per week]

Rate of Pay: \$25.49/hour

Position Summary:
Applicants will be considered to be added to an on-call list for short-term instructor opportunities. Applicants may also be considered for longer-term part-time, temporary teaching opportunities if those arise. Class schedules vary, with most classes happening synchronously Monday through Friday 8 am - 12 pm and 1 pm - 5 pm during June-July.
This position will develop curriculum, and content and deliver instruction for non-credit summer classes designed for youth and teens ages 10-17.
The Pima for Youth non-credit classes are based on the needs of the program and its participants. Instructors will cover subject matter in English, Math, Science, College, and Career Exploration, Student Study Skills, and Creative Arts. Although each class is focused on a core subject such as Math or Coding, Instructors are expected to integrate College and Career Readiness content such as time management, technology, and communication skills to support all students in achieving their short and long-term goals. All instruction is expected to be student-centered and contextualized to ensure the classes are pertinent, engaging, and meaningful for the student attendees.
Scheduled hours may vary based on programming needs.
About Pima for Youth:
Pima for Youth is an external-funded program administered by the Pima Community College, Workforce, and Continuing Education Department. Pima for Youth provides non-credit educational opportunities for ages 10-17. The classes engage students in new experiences, develop new interests, teach meaningful skills and excite youth to explore their interests. The program goals include: introducing youth to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) programs, promoting a college-going culture, and motivating youth to learn about the education required for certain careers and future options. The goal of Pima for Youth is to increase the rate at which youth ages 10-17 complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.

- Python Programmers
- 3D Game Design with Unity
Non-credit STEAM Courses:
- Arts & Humanities
- Applied Technology
- STEAM courses
- Pima for Youth College Readiness: High School 9th-12th graders
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for teaching a diverse population of students in various non-credit enrichment classes
- Prepare instructional materials, lesson plans, and classroom presentations
- Prepare instructional materials, lesson plans, and classroom presentations in support of students achieving educational goals, in accordance with the program goals and objectives
- Create high-quality educational experiences
- Complete accurate and timely data collection and reporting Facilitate student persistence with individualized support
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to student learning
- Adjust learning options for individuals with special needs, physical, and/or psychological differences
- Set up/break down classrooms or other physical activity related specifically to the subject being taught
- Provide counsel regarding student discipline issues to crea e positive outcomes Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as required
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Job Requirements:
Non-credit Classes:
- High school diploma or GED
- In possession/ have the ability to obtain an Identity Verified Prints (IVP) fingerprint clearance card
Non-credit STEAM Classes:
- Bachelor\'s Degree in a related area and
- Two years of related instructing experience
- In possession/ have the ability to obtain an Identity Verified Prints (IVP) fingerprint clearance card
