Description

The Associate Director of Medical Affairs, Multiple Myeloma (MM) Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will be responsible for organizational operation and people management of the MM MSL group, reporting to the Director of Hematology, Medical Affairs Japan. A strong insight into the MM disease areas (DAs) and the key individuals (KIs) is required. The Associate Director will be responsible for developing MSL activity plan aligned with medical affairs plan (MAP) and supporting the team members to execute scientific engagement with targeted KIs. The collaboration with MSL Excellence Lead is required to improve team capability and efficient operation. The position is based in Tokyo, Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead MM MSL team

  • Develop and execute MSL activity plan aligned with MAP

  • Develop strong team capability and efficient operation (e.g., coaching and training)

  • Partner with key internal stakeholders on shaping MSL activity

  • Generate scientific insights from targeted KIs

  • Supervise and mentor team as well as hiring

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree required.

  • PhD in life sciences and/or MD preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Work experience of 7 years in pharmaceutical industry or medical institute is desirable

  • Work experience as MSL is desirable

  • High people management ability and organizational management ability is essential

  • High communication skills are essential to be able to discuss on an equal footing with internal/external stakeholders and build a strong relationship of trust

  • Experienced in leading and completing numerous complex projects

  • Excellent presentation skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • Experience with Hematology, at least Oncology area preferred

  • People management experience preferred
