Eaton Corporation Finance Manager in Selangor, Malaysia

What you’ll do:

This role is instrumental to manage the financial performance of the JV between Eaton and SIAEC in Malaysia including analysis of forecasts and actual performance, business drivers, and operational metrics. The Finance Manager needs to develop forward-looking insights to drive management decisions, actions and improve operational and financial results, and provide technical competencies to ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, legal requirements and GAAP (US and Malaysia).

Direct the regular financial processes including closing the books, forecasting, planning, and the reporting and analysis of results.

Analyze operating results to determine and recommend profit and/or cash flow improvement opportunities.

Assure the existence and competency of financial systems and procedures to comply corporate policies and procedures to guarantee the integrity of financial reporting.

Ensure financials are reported in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and local statutory requirements. Ensures all applicable statutory and tax filings are submitted on-time.

Maintain adequate product costing systems for valuation and cost estimating activities.

Establish, monitor and maintain a system of internal controls that safeguards company asset and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities. Assure compliance with corporate policy, including SOX.

Evaluate, approve and/or recommend course of action on plant capital spending and investment request. Monitor and report purchase commitments and spending for all capital programs. Conduct follow-up audits to ensure compliance for all significant capital investments.

Perform special analysis to support strategic business making – this can include financial analysis in support of capital investments, changing business models and pricing models

Work with the plant, division, and corporate financial organizations (ie., treasury, tax, audit) in improving financial processes, implementing policy changes, and executing strategies and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA/CMA/MBA preferred

• 5-8 years in a manufacturing MNC environment

• At least 3 years in managerial role

Skills:

• Sound working knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and local statutory requirements

• Technical capability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial and operational data/reports.

• Good analytical skills

• Understanding of global business issued, including foreign currency impacts, effective hedging protocols and local customs and duty requirements.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities often with demanding time constraints.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization.

• Exhibits managerial courage in defending a position and handling conflict.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities to achieve clear alignment between business and joint venture partners.
