Key job responsibilities

We're looking for a Product Safety & Compliance Manager to drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a harmonized Amazon Private Brand chemical management program. The PSC Manager will help build a business by developing high level policies, processes, and innovative scalable solutions, while maintaining high standards for worldwide compliance.

A day in the life

• Work with the Regulatory Intelligence Team to complete impact assessments for new, emerging and changing global regulatory chemical requirements

• Work with subject matter experts across a range of product categories to ensure and maintain compliance with all chemical regulatory requirements, globally.

• Partner with Sustainability teams to develop and implement chemical management policies, tools and methodologies, including Restricted Substance Lists (RSL’s)

• Partner with Legal teams, to build a harmonised approach for product chemical specification testing, to ensure Amazon Private Brand maintains a high product safety bar.

• Engage with internal and external organizations to monitor and track import of certain chemicals in-line with regulated reporting thresholds.

• Identify areas of opportunity around end to end chemical management globally D

• Develop chemical strategies to improve traceability in our global supply chain

• Develop relationships with relevant industry bodies to obtain insights and help shape the regulatory landscape

About the team

The Policy and Compliance Team (PACT) identifies and analyses compliance requirements, with responsibility for Requirement Ingestion, Requirement Review and Assessment, Product-Type Protocol Management, Secondary Requirements. Lead Technical functions reside within this team, focused on escalations and Technical Assessments, for example Risk Assessment and Risk Frameworks, High Severity Product Safety Investigations, Regulatory Intelligence full impact assessments and Chemical Management.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience handling confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
