Blue Origin LLC Project Manager III - New Glenn in Seattle, Washington

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to design, build, implement testing, deliver sophisticated structures systems. As Project Manager for the New Glenn First Stage (GS1), you will work with the GS1 Functional Program Manager, and be dash lined to the GS1 Modules or Subsystems Directors as applicable. You will be directly supporting all aspects of project management to include cost, schedule, risk & opportunity, subcontractors, and change management. You will use your project engineering skills to organize and update budgets, schedules, and program plans to ensure development, qualification and production hardware is delivered per program requirements. You will use your technical background to understand and effectively connect with Blue Origin internal organizations and suppliers to guide project planning. You will build modules/subsystems project management plans and manage project schedules, WBS, and cost, as well coordinate schedules to integrate the subsystem development with the overall vehicle programs. You will present status, risks & opportunities, variances, and recovery plans to engineering and program management. You will manage the modules/subsystems business rhythms, develop, and communicate key program metrics with transparency to Program Engineering, Finance, Program Management Office, Supply Chain Management, and Manufacturing and Test Teams in both Florida and Washington. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive plans to implement New Glenn First Stage (GS1) Subsystems and/or modules Integration campaigns. Coordinate with design engineers, procurement, procurement, operations, test engineers, production, and test engineering, to ensure all aspects of the build and test are driving to plan. Manage key program metrics (and associated reporting tools) in areas such as: budget, engineering schedules, equipment schedules, procurement schedules, build schedules, test schedules, program management status reports, and resource plans Identify risk, document, communicate, develop mitigation plans and drive to an acceptable level Communicate status, critical paths, challenges, and recommended solutions Budget: Track budgets and manage the committed/ uncommitted forecast, variance and other financial metrics working closely with the GS1 Finance team Develop change assessments and find alternatives to mitigate budget increases. Deliver actionable insights on financial performance and opportunities to reduce costs without impacting performance Schedule: Develop and manage detailed schedules & trackers for all build and test activities. Coordinate progress with higher level IMS. Perform schedule baseline change control, collect, and track performance, conduct critical path and variance analyses Provide regular updates to all team members on progress and risks to meet overall schedule Collaborate with purchasing and supplier management to ensure on-time delivery
