Psomas Landscape Architect Intern in Seattle, Washington

About being our Landscape Architect Intern

We're looking to fill a summer internship position in our Seattle office, working approximately 24 hours per week for up to 12 weeks (about 3 months). This role will involve graphic production and AutoCAD drafting for the design development of various projects across all three of our PNW offices (Seattle, Tacoma, and Wenatchee). Interns will have the opportunity to creatively engage in projects from inception, working closely with our landscape architects, urban designers, and engineers to gain real-world experience from conceptual design, design development, and digital graphic renderings to design detailing and construction documentation.

Our team of landscape architects and urban designers specializes in crafting and implementing visions for communities across Washington. Our past and current projects include main streets, festival streets, gateways, wayfinding, community plazas/open spaces, parks, and trails. We're seeking a candidate who is self-motivated, collaborative, and also possesses strong visual communication skills. Our firm offers a supportive and dynamic environment where interns will work alongside professionals from various disciplines, fostering teamwork and mentorship opportunities throughout their internship.

Responsibility Highlights for our Landscape Architect Intern

  • Prepare illustrative renderings, graphics, and figures to effectively communicate design concepts to our clients and the public.
  • Assist with preparation of construction documents including drafting plans and details.
  • Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team across a wide range of project types.

Minimum Qualifications to be our Landscape Architect Intern

  • Current university student or recent graduate, majoring in Landscape Architecture
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong written & graphic communication skills; experience with 3D rendering is a plus
  • Experience with latest software versions of AutoCAD™ Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D Rendering Software (i.e. Rhino, Revit, Lumion, SketchUp, etc.) MS Word, and Excel
