SUMMARY

At Northeast Shared Services our Central Fill Pharmacy Technician works in a high paced productionenvironment and is highly motivated to provide excellent customer service to customers. The role of Central Fill Pharmacy Technician is to support to the pharmacist by providing efficient, accurate prescription dispensing, inventory management, supply ordering, maintaining the workflow of the pharmacy to meet shipping deadlines. A Pharmacy Technician is a person willing to pursue and successfully completing all requirements to become a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician, CPhT. All pharmacy activities are carried out under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain workflow, organization of prescription processing.

Receive pharmacy phone calls

Identify, retrieve from stock and count medications accurately

Process prescription refills using the ScriptPro workflow software

Package prescriptions and print receipts for prescription delivery to stores

Maintain appearance of the pharmacy, signage, vacuum, empty trash, etc.

Perform maintenance of ScriptPro automated dispensing system

Fill ScriptPro cells under the direct supervision of a pharmacist

Perform accurate inventory cycle counts

Check in, sticker, and shelve daily order

Assure and/or perform Returned to Stock procedures accurately

Maintain accurate inventory levels and order points within the dispensing software

Evaluate purchase orders for accuracy

Order special items from McKesson Connect

Order and maintain Supplies

Enter invoices and credits into DSD log then file invoices and credit memos

Other duties may be assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 18 years of age

High School Diploma or GED

1 year previous experience in a community pharmacy

Friendly, Helpful and Outstanding attitude

Superior customer service skills

Proficient in math calculations

Multi-tasking ability

Problem solving ability

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Basic Knowledge of mechanics

Strong organizational skills

Keyboarding skills

Proficiency with windows based computers

Proficiency with MS Outlook/Email, Excel, and Internet Explorer

Effective communications; verbal and written

Professional communication skill with the Pharmacy Team and customers

Knowledge of medication types and terms

Knowledge of state laws and regulations pertaining to pharmacy

Pre-employment and background check

Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol screening

Successful completion of the Shared Services Pharmacy Technician Training
