Planate Management Group LLC QA/QC Engineer in San Fernando, Philippines

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other federal agencies, all over the world.

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance in the repair of family housing in Aomori City, Japan.

  • Responsible for all aspects of construction quality assurance and oversight of facility and infrastructure construction/renovation projects

  • Oversight of incidental environmental projects associated with primary requirements.

  • Project repairs and upgrades that include replacement of roof recoating, repainting, and insulation, fire sprinklers, repainting, extension of roof structure, replacement of doors, windows, roofing at patio, flooring, kitchen and bath cabinets, handrails, appliances, smoke detectors, HVAC ductwork, plumbing fixtures and piping, and electrical systems and replacement of the steam-sourced hot water space heating system with an energy efficient electric hot water heater and recirculation pumps

  • Provide a new entry porch and canopy and provide new smart meters for domestic water and electricity, and Energy Management Control System (EMCS).

  • The project also includes demolition of steam supply piping and condensate piping, modification of existing storage tanks to support the new domestic hot water heating system and providing new energy efficient heat pump water heaters, piping, equipment pad and canopy.

  • Provide overall coordination of the construction quality management program for the assigned project.

  • Attend selective quality control, preparatory and initial meetings, and monitor three-phase checklists for accuracy and thoroughness

  • Provide relevant remarks on Government Quality Assurance (QA) reports (or in identified section of Contractor’s Quality Control (QC) reports), particularly on critical, definable features of work included

  • Validate quantity, condition, and approval of materials on site prior to Government issuing invoice payments

  • Attend/witness selected tests and review all applicable test reports and results

  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

    Qualifications To be successful in the role:

  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or an applicable field related to the overall project tasking.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of civil and/or military construction practices, procedures, and testing to include three (3) years of quality control management of construction projects.

  • Attended a professionally accredited Quality Control Management Course (e.g., conducted by the US Army Corps of Engineers or an independent private company) within the last five (5) years.

  • Preferably with a background in Architectural and/or Mechanical systems.

  • Preference will be given to those who can speak Japanese.
