Job Purpose

In this role you will be responsible for the development of HV/LV battery pack systems. Candidate will follow product design from inception throughout the development phase and release production intent components for manufacturing. Candidate will lead prototype development and support required quoting activities as it pertains to product development with customers as well as supply chain.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead design and development of battery pack systems and other related mechanical designs through analysis, design, and testing. Create design concepts for industrialization of battery pack systems HV and LV. Provide technical leadership for design and manufacturing related matters. Maintain ownership of Mechanical design and associated program deliverables, including cost. Support Design team drawing release to meet internal and external deliverables. Review product validation/verification plans to ensure requirements are met. Keep team members and management appraised of project progress and roadblocks. Create product DFMEAs, support APQP process, DFM techniques, and PPAP principles. Maintain cost reduction roadmap by working with suppliers as well as team members to implement low-cost design options and supplier pricing actions. Coordinate builds for Design Validation as well as DOE testing activities.

Qualifications

Possesses exceptional oral and written communication skills. Working level knowledge of Design CAD Software. Fundamental understanding of Creo and or Solid Works. Strong skills set with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel preferred. General comprehension of Product Lifecycle System or release system. Strong aptitude regarding quality, accuracy & efficiency of product design release process. Ability and willingness to work on multiple projects at one time and be able to adapt to changing priorities. Experience with GD&T and ASME Y14.1 drawing principles. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and excel in a self-directed work environment as well as within a cross functional team. Education/Experience Bachelor's and or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. 5+ years in a related engineering discipline in a professional market preferred. Experience designing plastic parts, as well as manufacturing techniques for series production projects, and experience selecting proper materials for the application. Knowledge of industry specifications as it pertains to UL, CE certifications and IP ratings. Training and use of standard quality disciplines (8D, FMEA, APQP, DOE, etc.). Training Required Candidates will attend HV safety training when required, offered by Enersys as an on-the-job training function.
