We are looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Specialist to work with our EH&S team to support our Punta Gorda facility as well as the Rapid Recovery Network locations in the Southeastern US.

This position will be hybrid position based out of our Punta Gorda, Florida Operations. They will assist in developing and managing the safety and environmental programs for the Punta Gorda, FL site along with the network sites, to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws. This position must lead by example and help support a remote workforce with the goals of reducing work-related accidents/injuries, developing a positive safety culture, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

This will be a high-travel position that will require up to 50% travel to site locations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support ongoing EHS initiatives in the plant and field environments including training, new hire onboarding, contractor safety, ergonomic evaluations

  • Perform site walkabouts and provide feedback to the team through database documentation and direct communication with stakeholders

  • Complete and update Risk Assessments on new and existing processes

  • Participate in and act as the EHS representative for all projects and process changes at the Punta Gorda facility

  • Build positive and productive relationships focused on growing an A-Gas Safety culture with all levels of the Punta Gorda site and network locations

  • Develop EHS programs (including procedures, training, etc)

  • Observe jobs in the field (including rooftops, construction/demo sites, etc)

  • Facilitate incident investigations (including root cause analysis), write effective corrective actions, and drive them to closure

  • Collect EHS data and perform simple trend analysis

  • Other duties as assigned

    Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Occupational, or Environmental Health and Safety plus 3-5 years experience or 5-7 years experience in lieu of degree.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook

  • Understanding of regulatory bodies such as the EPA, OSHA, and DOT and their regulations

  • Strong computer, project management, and organizational skills

  • Experience with software programs such as SAP Learning, Power BI, HSI, Samsara, Safety Culture (iAuditor) is desirable but not required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting

  • Responsible for managing their own time effectively, identifying possible barriers to getting the work done and seeking support when needed

  • Must be able to maintain effective communication virtually and in-person

  • Experience with Fleet and Vehicle Safety preferred but not required

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
