ManTech’s Air Force and Space Division is recruiting highly talented candidates to support a contract that provides support to the United States Space Force (USSF) and Space Systems Command (SSC), formerly Space Missile Systems Center (SMC), Launch Enterprise Directorate’s – National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program.

We assist the Space Force by supporting a multitude of areas, including Systems Engineering & Integration, Acquisition & Program Management Support, Mission Integration Management, System Safety & Environmental Engineering, Systems Security & Information Assurance, Launch Schedule and Risk Management, Certification of New Entrant Launch Vehicles.

Launch Site System Engineer responsible for performing engineering, operational support, design and test plan review and analysis duties for the 5th Space Launch Squadron in a fast-paced, evolving launch engineering environment for the SSC/LE NSSL Launch Vehicle Mission Assurance (LVMA) Team as part of the System Engineering & Integration II Contract. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 10 years DoD/Launch/Range/Spacelift Integration experience

Job Description: ManTech is seeking Top Talent as a Launch Site System Engineer for one of our Air Force and Space Programs

Clearance: Must have an active SECRET security clearance. An active TS/SCI clearance is desired.

Location: Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL

The Launch Site System Engineer will:

  • Provide system engineering support to the U.S. Space Force Approved Access Launch Vehicle Mission Assurance (LVMA) Team to ensure the capability of the launch vehicles to provide launch services for Department of Defense (DoD) National Security Space (NSS) missions.

  • Monitor United Launch Alliance’s anomaly resolution process, risk process, issues, and configuration changes to support the Government's efforts to track all ground systems configuration changes.

  • Assess and evaluate United Launch Alliance’s launch complex requirements, design, configuration changes and verification/validation documentation and provide risk recommendations to the Government.

  • Perform monitoring and analyze United Launch Alliance’s processes and procedures including vehicle processing and checkout for launch, Wet Dress Rehearsals (WDRs), and other operations.

  • Observe United Launch Alliance’s launch readiness reviews, post-flight ground system performance reviews, and will support technical interchange meetings, design reviews, Engineering Review Boards and Chief Engineer Review Boards.

  • Support the LVMA Team during mission operations; troubleshoot, track and report outages to associated service provider(s), assist users with LSC systems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline

  • 10 years DoD/Launch/Range/Spacelift Integration experience

  • Experience with launch site communication systems to include: data transport, operational voice, video and networking

  • Familiarity with Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS) facilities, processes, providers and operations

  • Ability to work both independently and in team environment, and maintain a positive professional attitude

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite to include Project and Visio applications

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, operational environment and react to real-world system outages by applying critical thinking and troubleshooting skills

  • Flexibility to support launch vehicle procedures, testing, and mission operations during non-standard business hours/days with expectation to perform those duties over multiple attempts

  • Effective communication skills with ability to provide briefings to large groups and leadership

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • SECRET Clearance. TS/SCI Desired

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment
