PruittHealth Driver - Med Supply in NORCROSS, Georgia

Job Description:

Drivers ensure safe and expert delivery of medical supplies to Nursing Home facilities, Hospice, and Homecare agencies. This includes, but not limited to conducting vehicle inspections before leaving the warehouse, insuring that all credentials ( insurance, driver’s license, medical certificate, DOT log book, ect. ) required are on person before departing on route, practicing safe driving at all times, providing excellent customer service, communicating delivery issue’s with the corresponding Customer Service Representative, reporting issues with vehicle to supervisor, and turning vehicle in to Ideal Lease of Atlanta for repair. Drivers must complete the DOT logbook in its entirety as per DOT regulations.

Essential Skill/Knowledge Functions:

  1. Ability to plan, prioritize and complete projects

  2. Ability to utilize tools such as Map quest or GPS units

  3. Displays a professional attitude and appearance

  4. Displays a strong work ethic

  5. Possesses excellent customer service skills

  6. Displays good communication skills, and the ability to read and write clearly

  7. Clearly understand the Bill of Lading and obtain all appropriate signatures

  8. Keeps supervisor informed of daily activities, and issues.

  9. Must get along with co-workers; maintain effective relationships with management staff, employees and the general public.

  10. Follows all company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations and charged with reporting violations to the appropriate supervisor.

  11. Carries out all duties with a “Commitment to Caring” and in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and philosophy.

  12. Maintains confidentiality of company information.

  13. Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times.

  14. Able to respond to change productively and handle additional projects as assigned.

  15. Able to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this job (with or without reasonable accommodation) without posing specific or current risk of substantial harm to the health and safety of self and others.

  16. Proven ability to drive at varied times and weather conditions.

  17. Abides by all state driving laws, including the mandatory use of seat belts, not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (including prescription drugs that may have warning labels alerting the patient to not drive motor vehicles), and must yield to emergency vehicles.

  18. Although normal hours will be scheduled, driver displays willingness to work hours outside of normal business hours at the employer’s discretion.

  19. Driver maintains an accurate DOT logbook that is up to date

Essential Administrative Functions:

  1. Participate in center/agency surveys (Licensure / JCAHO) and any subsequently required reports.

  2. Attend and participate in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in your field as well as to maintain current license/certification, as required.

  3. Attend and participate in mandatory in-services.

  4. Honor patients/residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints.

  5. Comply with corporate compliance program.

  6. Report job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards including exposure to blood and body fluids and others as necessary.

  7. Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection & prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.

  8. Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.

  9. Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor.

  1. Attendance – must maintain timely, regular attendance.

  2. Punctuality.

  3. Professional appearance.

  4. Communicates well with patients/residents/clients and family members providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to families, visitors, patients/residents/clients and responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor.
