Requisition Summary

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining manufacturing testers and software programs to support the testing and validation of electrical and electronic truck components.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Develops computer-based software to take electrical/electronic measurements and digital readings.

  • Plans, coordinates, and conducts projects of moderate scope with minimal supervision.

  • Analyzes project requests, discusses project requirements with requestors, and formulates preliminary project plans, budgets, and schedules.

  • Interprets software function requirements to develop functional test steps.

  • Executes software tests and records results.

  • Determines root cause when defects are found.

  • Creates automated tests, when possible, to maximize test efficiency

  • Writes reports, as appropriate, incorporating results, conclusions, and recommendations

  • Develops and improves test methodologies

  • Establishes and maintains cooperative and productive work relations and communication with internal and division departments

  • Travel up to 15%, 4 - 5 times per year domestic and international. Must have a valid passport or ability to obtain one in a timely manner.

    Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Ability to travel

    Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Familiarity with Controller Area Network (CAN) operation, especially J1939

  • Knowledge and interest in robotics

  • Familiarity with Communications Protocols used in industry such as RS232, RS485 and CAN

  • Familiarity with Session Layer Protocols such as OBD2 and J1939

  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL

    Education

  • BS in Computer Science preferred, or AA with 3+ years’ experience.
