Senior Civil Structural Engineer hybrid remote opportunity with a client located in either their Marietta, GA or Peachtree City, GA office. These positions will be responsible for designing and analyzing new or existing substation structures and foundations. You will also design transmission line foundations and provide design assistance to transmission line structures. The client is open to a broad range of translatable experiences. The client offers a solid benefits plan. Relocation assistance is available.

responsibilities:

  • Provide quality designs for Transmission Substation and Line projects, including substation structures, substation, and transmission line foundations to meet schedule and budget requirements.

  • Provide work direction and oversight for designers and drafters.

  • Serve as the civil structural representative on solution teams and prepare preliminary designs as required to support the process.

  • Support effort on specialized structural projects.

  • Serve as a company representative on industry committees.

  • Serve as a damage assessment team member after major storms after receiving the company provided training. Overnight travel within the Southern Company system is required.

  • Manage and work with structural designers and detailers to provide fabrication quality steel and concrete drawings.

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 8 or more years experience in industrial and-or commercial structural engineering

  • PE license preferred (will consider someone with the ability to obtain the license within a year os so)

  • Proficient with AutoCAD and-or Microstation design software (Inventor 3D, Revit, or Civil 3D Microstation all a plus)

  • Experience in structural and concrete design to some extent

  • Working knowledge of AISC, ASCE, ACI codes

  • Time management skills sufficient to manage multiple projects with various priorities and competing deadlines

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
