Purpose of the job:

The UPS EMEAI Region (Europe, Middle East, Africa and India) is headquartered in Brussels but has team members in various countries. The Legal Department is looking to hire a Legal Supervisor in Spain.

Job Profile:

In your role as Legal Supervisor, you will report to the lead attorney for Southern Europe (Italy, Spain and Portugal) and provide support for the management and oversight of a wide variety of legal matters for Spain and Portugal, including commercial, contractual, corporate, competition, employment, health and safety, criminal and regulatory matters. Your tasks will include preparation and review of contracts and other legal documents, overseeing litigations, analysis of antitrust and regulatory matters, research of information, coordination of internal committees and compliance experts. You will work closely with outside counsel to ensure matters are handled effectively and collaborate with internal UPS functions to gather and provide information.

You will be exposed to a dynamic, fast paced, international environment made of highly talented individuals and you will learn from years of solid experience. You will be based in Madrid (Spain).

Your Profile:

The right candidate will

  • Have a masters' degree in law obtained in Spain and at least 2-3 years’ experience as in-house legal counsel or in a law firm;

  • Have good drafting, negotiation and communication skills;

  • Be a problem solver, solution focused and client oriented;

  • Have the ability to deliver messages in a structured, clear and diplomatic way;

  • Be comfortable in a multinational and multi-cultural environment;

  • Be energetic, dynamic, clever - a generalist and true business partner;

  • Be organized, disciplined and able to work independently;

  • Be proficient in English and Spanish (mother tongue or advanced level). Some knowledge of Portuguese will be an extra asset.
