ProSphere Tek Technical Library Assistant in Los Alamos, New Mexico

Overview

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International company (PSI), referred to as ATL is seeking a Technical Report Collection Assistant to join our team at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Support the LANL Research Library that is currently working to fully catalog and digitize our historical technical report collection in print format.

  • Assist with the review of collection contents for classification, indexing, cataloging, preparing, and storing published technical information in print format.

  • Check for digital copies in trusted repositories like OSTI.gov or HathiTrust.org.

  • Conduct searches following well-established procedures.

  • Apply Laboratory policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.

  • Utilizes standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques as recognized within the records management, archives, or library profession.

  • Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

  • Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives.

  • Receives detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Position typically requires a high school diploma and minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have good computer repository, filing systems skills.

  • Must be able to lift print materials and/or archival boxes (that are up to 25 pounds).

  • Must be able to be on feet for substantial periods of time.

Citizenship and Clearance:

  • For consideration, you must have an active or very recently active DOE “Q” Clearance or DoD “Top Secret” Clearance.

  • Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
