McLaren Health Care Pharmacy Technician Lead - McLaren Careers in Essexville, Michigan

Position Summary:

Under the direction of a pharmacist or pharmacy management, the pharmacy technician lead is responsible for assisting in provision of pharmacy services in compliance with relevant organizational and regulatory agency standards, policies, procedures, regulations, and requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities as Assigned:

  1. Assists pharmacists, and under their direction, performs duties such as, but not limited to, filling containers, preparing and affixing labels, prepackaging pharmaceuticals, maintaining records, and stocking supplies.

  2. Prepares and labels IVs, hyperalimentation solutions, chemotherapy agents, and other pharmaceutical products.

  3. Responds to patient admission, transfer, discharge, discontinued medication notices, and processes physician orders, according to established procedure.

  4. Assists in performing recordkeeping, billing and accounting functions, including, but not limited to, verifying remittances, corresponding with third party prescription payors, entering charges and payments, making adjustments, posting charges and printing statements.

  5. Assists in ordering, receiving, inspecting and adjusting stock.

  6. Maintains floor stock, crash carts and nursing station inspection reports.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid state Full Pharmacy Technician License.

  • Five years of experience as a pharmacy technician.

Preferred:

  • Computer experience.

  • Previous pharmacy experience or courses in pharmacy curriculum.
