This role will coordinate graphic design for embecta's packaging materials, collaborating with Marketing, QA/RA, and R&D, as well as packaging vendors. Serve as a liaison between vendors and the Dun Laoghaire (DL) packaging

engineering department in addition to providing technical expertise in packaging design, considering marketing and regulatory factors.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce multilingual graphic designs for packaging materials through the use of Adobe Creative cloud .

  • To release artwork to vendors and liaise with design studios / vendors to have design proofs prepared and submitted for embecta’s approval prior to the printing of packaging materials.

  • Prepare packaging drawings, packaging specifications for the range of products produced by the DL plant.

  • Prepare packaging and related documents for release in the quality document management system. Using the Workflow System initiate the setting up of part numbers for assembly and packaging materials in SAP.

  • Liaise between packaging vendors, embecta packaging engineering and QA.

  • Work with European Marketing, QA/RA and country product managers in the preparation of new and modifications to existing pack designs.

  • Provide support to the DL plant on continuous improvement projects.

  • Provide technical services and support to the Global Marketing and Regulatory functions, including sourcing and supplying materials as required for the repackaging and labelling of products by the European Supply Chain team.

  • Approve teardrop label proofs submitted by vendors.

  • Proof and approve artwork set ups.

  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

Education & Experience

  • A Diploma or equivalent qualification in Packaging and /or Art and Design. (Graphic Design for the Printing Industry and a diploma from the Institute of Packaging are acceptable qualifications).

  • ​A qualification in the use of computer graphics packages such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.

  • Experience of work in a similar position in the healthcare or related industry.

  • A working knowledge of design for the print/packaging industry.

  • An excellent working experience using Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.

  • Demonstrable experience of excellent planning and organisational skills

  • Demonstrable experience of excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Working as part of a team.

  • A working knowledge of SAP and a quality document management system an advantage.

  • A working knowledge of barcoding elements in packaging an advantage.
