THE ROLE : The Outside Sales Territory Manager will be responsible for selling Smith-Blair’s products to distributers and end users within an assigned territory. The Territory Manager will generate and develop new channel partners while maintaining healthy relationships with current partners.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Responsible for new accounts development and/or expanding existing accounts within the distribution or retail sales channel.

  • Responsible for creating an awareness and demand for company products.

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of clamp and coupling products and their associated applications.

  • Must have the ability to plan sales effort to thoroughly cover assigned geographic territory and penetrate available markets.

  • Manages sales efforts to improve profitability.

  • Direct sales efforts to have Smith-Blair product features specified by end user customers.

  • Develop and manage territory sales AOP and expense AOP.

  • Solve sales and product problems/issues in assigned territory.

  • Improve and maintain customer relation s with all major accounts and distributors within territory.

  • Must have strong math skills.

  • Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power/Point), Oracle based system experience desired.

  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.

  • Other ad-hoc duties and analyses as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in sales

  • Minimum 3+ years sales experience.

  • Proven presentation and communication skills including face-to-face interaction.

  • Must have effective interpersonal skills with customers, employees, and management team.

DAY IN THE LIFE :

In this role, the working environment is both an indoor climate-controlled office and plant manufacturing environment. The physical demands may include but are not limited to occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds, and prolonged exposure to indoor and outdoor environments.

SALARY:

The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $95,000 plus quarterly sales incentive.  Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
